Heroes & Unity Two City Marathon

"Level Up"

Building on the success of the inaugural Heroes Marathon in July 2024, the 2025 edition has expanded into a twin-city event—the Heroes & Unity Twin City Marathon. This unique event brings together two back-to-back marathons in Zambia’s most vibrant cities:

  • Heroes Marathon – Lusaka | Sunday, 6th July 2025
  • Unity Marathon – Ndola | Monday, 7th July 2025.

A Race & A Journey

Runners can participate in one or level up and challenge both - two days, two races in two cities, earning medals from each race that interlock into a complete, collectable that will remain an enduring testament of your determination and grit.

EVENT STRUCTURE

  • 42km Full Marathon
  • 21km Half Marathon
  • 10km & 5km Fun Runs

Special Recognition for Dual Finishers

Runners who complete both races will earn the prestigious “Heroes & Unity Finisher” status with exclusive rewards.

🏅 Patriot – 42km finishers of both races
🏅 Citizen – 21km finishers of both races
🏅 Resident – 10km & 5km finishers of both races

Lifetime Achievement: Participants will accumulate their status over the years (e.g., “3-time Patriot” or “5-time Citizen”) for lifetime recognition and bragging rights.

Safe Luggage Facility

To enhance the convenience of our participants, we will provide a Safe Luggage Facility at the event venue. This service is designed for:
  1. Runners traveling to Ndola after the Lusaka race – Participants using our official bus service can deposit their luggage at a minimal fee before the race. This allows them to proceed directly to Ndola after the event without returning home to collect personal items.
  2. Runners with essential personal belongings – Participants who have items they do not wish to carry during the race (e.g. phones, keys, change of clothes) can also use the facility for secure storage and easy collection post-race.
 
This service ensures a smooth and stress-free transition between races and cities, supporting both convenience and peace of mind for all participants.

Event Location & Access

The starting point for the event will be at Protea Hotel by Marriott Lusaka Tower, located on Kelvin Siwale Road in Lusaka.

Participants staying at the hotel will enjoy the convenience of immediate access to the start line—just a short walk from their rooms.

For local participants, we recommend using ride-hailing services such as Yango to ease traffic flow and minimize congestion. Dedicated parking will be made available within the Showgrounds for those who choose to drive.
